View BOM Summary and BOM Details

To view your BOM Summary you must be logged-in. There are two ways to view your BOM Summary, first is by clicking the Shopping Cart icon located on top of the web page.

The other is in My Account Page, just click the Manage link of BOM Summary under My Shopping Cart.

Exploring BOM Summary

The BOM Summary is where all the list of your BOMs are displayed as well as their active transactions.

BOM Summary has two sections, the first is the Active BOM Transactions. A BOM Transaction is a pending transaction to purchase one or more items from your BOM. It is created either when you try to checkout BOM items but then cancel the checkout process before completing it. Another way is when you try to checkout (any) BOM items whcih are flagged as RFQ items. Your checkout process is placed on on-hold/pending due to RFQ items that are subject to review by our internal staff. To view your BOM transaction, just click the BOM Transaction Name, another tab will open displaying your BOM transaction details.

The second section is the list of your BOMs. It can be sorted by BOM Name or Date Created. The Quoted items column refers to number (count) of parts in the BOM. The Per Board column is whether the BOM item's quantity is counted as multiple per board or simplying a manualy managed quantity. The Quantity Per Board column is the number of boards/builds, this will determine the required quantity of an item in the BOM. To view the BOM details or buy any items in the BOM, click the Manage & Buy button. Click the trash bin icon if you want to delete a particular BOM.

Exploring BOM Details

Clicking on the Manage & Buy button will open a new tab displaying your BOM details. This is where you can manage your BOM items, including updating your BOM informations such as the BOM name, Per Board and No. of Boards fields, editing the manufacturer and quantity of your BOM items and add/modify your internal part number for each item on the BOM. From this you can check out one or more items in the BOM. You can also delete items from your BOM list.

Why is there a flag besides some of my items? When an item is flagged (red), it means that is is an RFQ item. An RFQ item will be reviewed first by our internal staff upon checkout.

Edit an item in the BOM

The following steps will guide and help you understand how to edit a BOM item.

  1. Click the Manage & Buy button of the BOM that you want to make changes to.
  2. Click the EDIT button of the BOM item that you want to edit. The following fields will be enabled for update.

    • Manufacturer - when you add an item to the BOM, the manufacturer is set to the default value Any Manufacturer. But if you have a manufacturer restriction, a list of manufacturers is available for you to choose from.

Changing the manufacturer may cause to change some details of the BOM item such as lead-time, available quantity or unit/traget price. This update may also change the item status, for example, if the chosen manufacturer has lesser available quantity than your required quantity, the item will be flagged (red) as RFQ item after updating. In some cases, the chosen manufacturer may have a different price range for the required quantity.
Manufacturer field becomes uneditable when there is no specific manufacturer that can accomodate your required quantity.

      For a RFQ item

You will manually key-in your preferred manufacturer.

Leaving this field blank will set it to default value of Any Manufacturer
    • Quantity - this field will accept numeric values only

Changing the quantity may change unit/target price for the item since price depends on quantity range. Also, if the new required quantity exceeds the available quantity, the item may be flagged as RFQ item after updating.
  3. When your done editing you BOM item, just click the Save button and your BOM item will be updated. If for some reason you do not want to continue with the update, you can cancel it by clicking the Cancel button and everything will be returned to original value.
